About The Group

New Forest Family Pubs are a small group of elite Public Houses situated within the boundaries of the New Forest National Park.

The local owner of the group brought them together with the specific intention of creating a warm and friendly family atmosphere, catering for families at The Rising Sun, The Swan, The Burley Inn and The Sir Walter Tyrrell; where you will find safe play areas with large outside dining areas.

Each of the pubs serve morning coffees, cream teas and a full menu available all day from 12 noon.

Some of the original sites are mentioned in the 1086 Domesday Book, all of the sites have a rich and varied history, for instance, The Sir Walter Tyrell stands a few yards from the "Rufus Stone" which is where legend has it that Rufus, son of William the Conqueror, was accidently shot and killed by an arrow from Walter Tyrell whilst hunting deer in the forest.

The New Forest in Hampshire is among the few forests which have retained any ideas of their ancient consequence - At least it is superior to the rest, on account of its boundaries; the variety of its contents; and the grandeur of its scenes.
